Kelsey Ice,

Portland is drenched in rain. I just came back from a sunny trip in Denver to the horrid rain and grey skies. But whenever I need yellow, brightness, and sunshine, all I have to do is think of you.

I'm so thankful for a forever friend like you. Someone that I know will care for me, judgement free, until the very end of life on this Earth. I'd like to think that black hair phases, major crushes, strange boys, and awkward high school musical lifts only makes our friendship that much richer.

Kelsey, there are moments in my life that I just long to be with you. That's definitely not something I can say about many friends. But I just want to sit in your presence, laugh with you, and give you a giant hug. Your kindness and gentleness have literally permeated my heart and soul. You are a special kind of human. I hope I never, ever take that for granted.

Thank you for loving yellow with me.

Thank you for your friendship of many, many years and lots and lots of miles.

Thank you for seeing me through so much pain and change.

Thank you for making me laugh until my stomach hurts. Wheeze laughing with you is one of the greatest joys in life.

Thank you for your love of community and people. You've taught me so much about bringing friends together and meeting them in all their brokenness.

Kelsey, I miss you so much and I love you for eternity.
